Steven Chera’s 2012 album, New York State of Mind, is a collection of 14 classic standards and well-known popular songs, delivered with a smooth, easy-listening jazz sensibility. While the album title is shared with the famous Billy Joel song (which is included on the tracklist as “N.Y. State of Mind”), the record offers a broader tribute to timeless melodies.
Chera, who is listed as the artist, presents his interpretations of beloved tracks like “Wonderful Tonight,” “The Look of Love,” “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You,” and “Crazy,” giving them a relaxed, often romantic jazz treatment.
